In 1992, five years after Taiwan lifted martial law, Jiang, a high school student destined for a top medical college, secretly joins the school’s marching band to chase his passion for music. When the band faces closure due to its outdated focus on martial music, Jiang and his fellow members rally together, determined to save it and reclaim its honor in a prestigious competition.

Alain Moreau sings for one of the few remaining dance-bands in Clermont-Ferrand. Though something of an idol amongst his female audience he has a melancholic awareness of the slow disappearance of that audience and of his advancing years. He is completely knocked off balance when he meets strikingly attractive and much younger businesswoman Marion. She seems distant and apparently otherwise involved but soon shows quiet signs of reciprocating his interest.
Orphaned from an early age and taken in by her aunt Em, Dorothy suffers from the absence of her parents. One morning, a cyclone hits his village and Dorothy has no time to take refuge in the family shelter. The cyclone takes it with the house to a faraway land, an unreal world populated by extraordinary characters. As soon as she arrives, she has only one idea in mind, to go home to find her aunt. How do I do that? No one has the power to help her get home. No one except perhaps a strange and fantastic character who has lived for years in the Emerald City, the Wizard of Oz.
The film is dedicated to the great Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky (1840-1893). It tells of the last twenty years of the great master’s life, of his friendship with Baroness von Meck, an outstanding woman of her time, who for many years was Tchaikovsky’s guardian angel. The film also includes retrospections of the composer’s childhood and adolescent years, with Tchaikovsky’s life poetically recounted against the background of fragments from his operas and ballets performed by the best Russian musicians.

Directed by Laurent Pelly, the National Opera in Lyon stages this musical comedy about a man suspected of murdering his wives. Hortense Schneider originally played Boulotka, a village girl who reforms Bluebeard. Yann Beuron and Héloise Mas star, with Christophe Gay as the alchemist Popolani.
