In the depths of a dense winter forest, an old little witch lives. The animals in the forest like her, because she has never caused anyone suffering. But she has a small mistake: sometimes greed overcomes her - so also on a Christmas evening. She wants more gifts than she deserves, so Santa decides not to give her a gift at all this year. The witch chases after Santa's balloon to tear him a gift. But she does not succeed, instead her witch broom breaks during the wild hunt. Sadly, the witch sneaks home. Unhappy and lonely, she sits in her gloomy witch apartment and is ashamed of her greedy behavior. Suddenly Santa is standing in front of her. He is not evil, but gives her a new witch broom and a red witch cat. So it happens that Hex' and Santa celebrate Christmas together and make music deep into the night.
Based on James Thurber's short-story about a mild, henpecked man who, while preparing his breakfast, looks out the window and sees a unicorn eating flowers in the garden. He rushes upstairs to inform his domineering wife, and she accuses him of being crazy and threatens to have him put away. He persists that he did see a unicorn in the garden, and she phones for the authorities to come take him away. But when they arrive, with strait-jackets, they find the wife rambling and raving about seeing the unicorn, and promptly take her away.

Sylvester is determined to get a woodpecker that just moved in, high in a tree. He climbs, but the bird greases the tree; he starts to cut it down, but a mean dog stops him (this becomes a running gag). Several other attempts follow; at one point, he puts his paw into the bird's home, and the bird puts a tomato there; Sylvester squishes it, and the bird dresses as an angel to torment him, but Sylvester sees through the disguise. Finally, Sylvester tries to blow up the tree; the dog again intervenes. Sylvester gets the dynamite off the tree and puts out the fuses, but the bird has lit them again, and now Sylvester really becomes an angel.
