The Mormon pastor Mateo is obsessed by the murder of his father, which he witnessed as a child, but raises a church and preaches against violence. The gunman Gumaro helps the preacher when two outlaws show up and kills one of them. Four brothers of the dead outlaw attack the preacher's ranch and kill his pregnant wife, his son, a worker and leave the pastor for dead. He recovers, forgets his sermons and sets out to take vengeance on the murderers.
It's just after the Civil War in Kansas and Joan Randall and her troops are continuing the struggle. Jeff Conners is sent to bring her in and when he does she is found guilt and sentenced to hang. His tale unfolds as Ned Kelly and Joe Byrne surprise the constabulary in the bar of the Glenrowan Hotel and Ned shoots a constable in the hand. The Glenrowan Affair includes the ambush at Eleven Mile Creek, the hold up at the Jerilderie Bank and the siege at the Glenrowan Hotel where Ned, dressed in a suit of homemade armour, taunts the 'traps' in a hail of gunfire before he is shot and captured.
Rancher Timothy Wade is ambushed by a masked man riding a pinto horse. His young son, Buzzy Wade and the loyal ranch foreman, Dude Bates, are mystified as to who anyone would kill Wade. But, Jim Dana, a U.S. government undercover agent, has his suspicions that the reason may have been in order to acquire the ranch from Buzzy and his older sister, Ruth. Dana thinks the ranch may have a large deposit of a mineral useful to a foreign country. His suspicions are confirmed when a couple of guys with heavy-accents show up inquiring about the property.
