A band of Klan-like night riders have been running rampant, and ranch owner Julian Marbolt (Andre Beaulieu) -- who is afflicted with day blindness and can only see in the evening -- offers a reward for the leader's capture.

She decides to leave him, and travels with a passing prospector who offers to accompany her through the mountains. However, when they are attacked by Indians, they are rescued by her husband. The Bar C is run by Buck Moran, and he and his cowboys are a lawless bunch. They don't know about the gold, but Dave Moore does, and so does his daughter Bobbie, whom he dresses up like a boy. Her true gender is eventually sussed out by the stranger.
Ranch owner Tex Wilson supplies horses to the government. While on his way to Los Angeles to take care of business, Tex sees a girl, Roberta Stephens, on a runaway horse. He rescues her and they strike up an acquaintanceship.
